After School Programs (5 – 13 year olds)

Our For All programs cater for all primary school children.  Our core sports are listed below:

Basketball for All
Soccer for All
Netball for All
Tennis For All

These 6 week programs have proven to be very popular amongst South Australian schools and we have many children coming back each term to improve and learn new skills.  

All children are placed into groups or similar age and ability at the start of the session.

Each weekly session of the Get Active Sports For All program has two components.  The first component is the teaching of skills.  We believe this is the most important because children need to learn the basics of any sport before they play in games.  The skill component is flexible to allow each child to learn at their own rate.  We try to extend each skill level each week so that each child feels they have improved over the six week period. We hope that they take their ball they received at their first session home to practice.

The second part of the session is a modified game so they get an opportunity to put their new skills into practice. For our younger children of 5 and 6 we limit game time and spend more time on the skills. We also spend more time on teaching some basic rules of the game.

Each weekly session goes for 45 minutes and generally starts straight after school at 3.30pm or 8.00am in our before school sessions.  We allow some time for children from neighbouring schools to travel so they can participate. We encourage children for our outdoor programs to wear a hat and also encourage all children to bring a drink of water, especially in the warmer months.
